KE5RS Foxhunt Help / Tips:I will try to post help and tips here as I can Be patient when uploading an image: Posting or uploading an image may take a few seconds after pressing the "Upload" button and getting confirmation. Tag Color: Uploading an image is now optional. Simply identify the color of the plastic card hanging below the fox, it's about the size of a poker card. In the submit form, there is a dropdown to select the color of the tag. Fox Hunting in a Group: If you are hunting in a group, team, friends, spouse etc... Taking a picture, you're concerned you may expose the fox location to the others? As each of you find the fox, submit just your name, comments are optional to get your time stamp recorded. You do not need to take a picture of the fox, The last person to find the fox in your group can upload the image when they find it and then comment the names of your group. If you come close: If you get close, get a picture or maps screenshot of your location on your phone, upload the map screenshot and your comments. Identifying City Limits. I use "city limits" in the hints most of the time. If you search Google for a city, Google Maps will show a red dotted line outlining the city limits. For example, Use Google Maps to search, Leander, TX. I don't know if it works in all browsers but here is a screen shot of what I get when I search Google for Leander, TX. Resize your Image: It's not critical but, after you take the picture of the fox, open the image in photos and center or zoom in on the fox in the picture, take a screen shot and use that screen shot to upload. Screenshot images are much smaller and will be uploaded faster. Fox Melody: Here is what the fox sounds like from my home station about 2 miles away using an outside antenna. There is a little bit of noise on it. This is close to what you should hear once you get within range Fox Melody Fox Images: Some pictures taken while building the hanging fox ==> HERE Suggestions, Help, suggestions?
